After graduating from Castle Park High School in Chula Vista, Dr. Cortes embarked on a remarkable path. Initially, he dedicated himself to serving his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, Dr. Cortes ventured into the world of large telecommunication companies, gaining valuable experience along the way. Driven by his passion for making a positive impact through healthcare, Dr. Cortes made the decision to return to academia. He obtained his first degree in Biology from the esteemed University of San Diego, CA. Realizing his true calling in dentistry, he pursued further education, earning his doctorate from University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Committed to honing his expertise, Dr. Cortes undertook externships in Oral Surgery at esteemed institutions such as Banner Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, and Highland Hospital in Oakland, California. These invaluable experiences equipped him with comprehensive skills and insights in his field.
Dr. Cortes and his wife Anaissa met at the University of San Diego. They have a loving family with two daughters, Valentina and Paulina, and a son named Nicolas. They enjoy cooking, exploring cuisines, traveling, and embracing the beauty of San Diego.
