It is painted on our front window, and we mean it two ways.
Our office
The first one is easy. This is San Diego. Seventy-two degrees, the ocean twenty minutes west, and not a lot to complain about. If there is anywhere on earth you should be walking around smiling, it is here.
There is more to the line than that. Give us thirty seconds.
Think of someone you know who covers their mouth when they laugh. Who turns their head slightly in every photograph. Who has learned to smile without showing any teeth at all, so smoothly that you might never have noticed they were doing it.
You probably found someone. Most people can.
They are not vain and they are not careless. Usually they have been putting it off for years, over money, or over time, or over one bad appointment a long while back that they never quite got past. Somewhere along the way the mouth closed, and then it stayed closed.
That is who we opened this office for. Not because a smile is cosmetic, but because of what comes back with it. People start showing up differently. They speak up in the meeting. They let themselves be in the photograph. And it does not stop with them, because the people around someone who has their confidence back can feel the difference, even if nobody ever says a word about teeth.
So the line on the window is not decoration. It is the job.

Most of what makes a first visit stressful has nothing to do with dentistry. It is walking into a building you have never seen, not knowing which door to use, where to sit, or what is behind the next one.
So Anaissa filmed the whole place and walks you through it herself. The parking lot, the front door, the hallway, and every room you will actually be in. Watch it now, and the first time you come here will be the second time you have seen it.

Welcome to Kearny Mesa Smile Center. This is the second dental office of Dr. Paulo Cortes. We are proud to say that we are family owned and operated. Come with me for a tour of our office.
As you enter, this is our lobby where you'll get to meet me and one of my team members whose job it is to make your appointment as seamless as possible and answering insurance questions you may have.
As you enter, you'll see our hallway here with the operatories to the left. And that's Dr. Cortes and his assistant Jasmine. That's our lab and sterilization area. That there, that's our CBCT where doctors can plan your root canals, extractions, and even implants.
There we have some more chairs where you'll get to meet our hygienist for your routine cleanings.
As you exit, that will be your view and you'll be leaving with a smile on your face, satisfied by our customer service and our approach to dentistry. And there you'll get to see Dr. Cortes once again. And you'll get to walk out and meet one of my team members to help answer any questions and get you scheduled for your next visit.

The hallway

Operatory 1
Where most first visits happen. There is a large monitor in front of you so you can see your X-rays, your intraoral photos, and everything else that helps you start improving your oral health.
CBCT and panoramic X-ray
One machine doing two jobs. It captures both the standard panoramic X-ray and the 3D scan that makes accurate implant planning possible, so nobody gets sent to another office just for imaging.
Easy Parking,Short Walk
Plenty of parking available. Just park out front and walk straight in. No garage, no elevator, no hunting for the suite.
