Will it look like my other teeth?

That is the whole job. Shade, shape and translucency are matched to the teeth beside it.

Brush and floss it like a natural tooth. It cannot decay, but the gum and bone around it can still get inflamed, which is why it still needs cleaning and regular checks.

How long does it last?

Implant crowns last for years. Like any crown, one may eventually need replacing, and that does not mean anything is wrong with the implant underneath it.

The Implant IsNot The Tooth

People use the word implant to mean the whole thing, but the implant itself is the post in the bone. You never see it. What you see, chew with and smile with is the crown that attaches to it.

Which means the implant decides whether it lasts, and the crown decides whether it looks and feels like your own tooth.

How Implant Crowns Work Here

01. After the implant has integrated. The post needs to fuse with the bone before anything is loaded onto it. That is the waiting part.
02. A scan. We take a digital scan of the implant and the teeth around it.
03. Shade and shape. The crown is built to match what sits beside it, in color, in translucency and in the small irregularities that make a tooth look real rather than manufactured.
04. Fitting. The crown is attached, your bite is checked and adjusted, and you leave with it in place.

Why It MattersWho Does Both

We place the implant and we make the crown that goes on it, in this office. That is not a convenience point. When the same person plans the implant position and restores it, the crown is designed from the start to be restorable, rather than the restoring dentist working around a position somebody else chose.

You also do not repeat your history to a second practice or coordinate between two schedules.
